Abstract design in rugs is not new — it is, in many ways, a return to something very old. Before floral medallions and pictorial motifs, the earliest weavers worked with pure geometry: blocks of colour, bold lines, raw shape. This rug reconnects with that elemental impulse while speaking the visual language of today.

Our artisans approach abstract designs with a different kind of discipline than traditional patterns. Where a floral rug demands botanical precision, an abstract rug demands compositional instinct — knowing where to place weight, where to leave space, where a line should stop. Each piece is sketched, refined, and then hand tufted strand by strand, with the artisan making small interpretive decisions throughout the process.

The result is a rug that is never quite identical to its design drawing — and that is intentional. At Srijan Art Rugs, we believe the human hand always leaves something behind that no screen or machine can replicate. That trace of the maker is what makes this rug worth living with.

International Shipping

Returns & Exchanges

Care Instructions

Vacuum Gently

Vacuum regularly on low suction without the beater bar. Go with the direction of the pile — against it can pull fibres loose and distort the abstract colour blocks over time.

Spot Clean Only

Blot spills immediately with a clean dry cloth. Use cold water with a wool-safe detergent for stubborn spots — always blot, never scrub. Scrubbing can spread the stain and damage the pile.

No Machine Wash

Do not machine wash, soak, or tumble dry. Wool fibres and the latex backing are both vulnerable to excess water and heat — machine washing will cause irreversible damage.

Professional Clean

For deep cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner experienced with hand tufted wool pieces. Recommended every 12–18 months, or sooner if the rug is in a high-traffic area.

Rotate Regularly

Rotate 180° every 3–4 months to prevent uneven wear. In abstract rugs, uneven fading or pile compression is more noticeable — regular rotation keeps the piece looking as designed.

Store Rolled

Roll with pile facing inward — never fold. Store in a breathable cloth wrap in a cool, dry space. Folding creates permanent creases that can distort the design and weaken the backing.
